YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2008 when…

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven’t played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at t he desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don’t have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn’t have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and
get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile.  : )

12 You ’ re reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list…

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn’t a #9 on this list

#16 AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling

(by Mark Twain or M. J. Shields)

For example, in Year 1 that useless letter “c” would be dropped to be replased either by “k” or “s”, and likewise “x” would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which “c” would be retained would be the “ch” formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform “w” spelling, so that “which” and “one” would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish “y” replasing it with “i” and Iear 4 might fiks the “g/j” anomali wonse and for all.

Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez “c”, “y” and “x” — bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez — tu riplais “ch”, “sh”, and “th” rispektivli.

Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld.

Will Jim and Pam stay in Scranton, or move to Philly?

Episode 66, Job Fair

Pam has obviously had her fill of Michael’s obnoxiousness and is ready for a new job.

Jim is uncomfortable with Ryan’s threats, and was nervous about making the sale on the golf course. (Not to mention, he’s actually “trying” for the first time in his Dunder Mifflin career.)

Will Jim and Pam move to Philidelphia so that Pam can go to art school and Jim can become a Philadelphia sportswriter, like his Second Life persona (Episode 58, Local Ad)?

Several times this season, we’ve seen Pam and Jim’s relationship contrasted with her engagement with Roy. How will he react, if Pam decides she wants to follow the art school track? While she was engaged to Roy, Roy discouraged her when Jan offered her a graphic arts internship with corporate in NYC (Episode 21, Boys and Girls). Jim encouraged her then; how will he react now?

How will the season end? Can you say, “cliffhanger?”
